Justin Dawson is a professional bassist from Dayton, Ohio currently pursuing a performance degree in Jazz Studies at Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music. Since the age of five music has been Justin’s passion and he has had the opportunity to play throughout the Midwest performing a multitude of genres such as Rock, Jazz, Funk, R&B, and Musicals of all kind. One of Justin’s career highlight thus far was opening for the legendary Smokey Robinson with Sheila Ray Charles in 2015. Well versed in the craft of both the acoustic and electric bass, He can be seen performing throughout the Cincinnati area with various bands including The Ron Enyard Quartet, The New Old Souls, and The Jazz Coasters. You can catch Justin live on Sunday mornings from 11-2 pm at Lydia’s On Ludlow, Tuesdays at The Hamilton Wine Bar, and the first Thursday of each month at The Leapin Lizard.
